HOW TO DO WAIVERS

It seems from the way waivers have been running everyone is still unclear on how to use the interface on the website.  Here is a basic tutorial of how to use the system so that nobody ends up getting screwed out of a player.  If you need further help, call me (519)796-5597.  I will walk you through the process.
General Rules:
  • A maximum of one player can be picked by any one team in any one round.  However this doesn't mean that you should submit only one request per round. see examples 2, 3 & 4
  • If you wish to pick up "X" number of players then you must have "X" number of rounds submitted for the waiver period.
  • Do not assume you will get the player you are asking for; this especially holds true for bye week kickers.   Submit several kicker names with a common drop. see example 2
  • If you have a complicated waiver request that includes if-then scenarios then use the comment boxes to explain your intentions and then notify me asap (519)796-5597 so that I can turn off the automated waiver processing and process waivers manually for that session.  However if I can't get to a PC in time to turn off the automated process the waivers will run automatically as normal so do your best to set them up properly.

Example 1: Pick up one player and drop one player
Example 2: Pick up one player out of a possible four and drop one player
Example 3: Pick up four players where the dropped player is different with regards to the player picked up
Example 4: Pick up four players where the dropped player is the same regardless of player picked up
Common Errors: What not to do!

Example 1
(Pick up one player and drop one player)

Round 1

Round 1:
Pick up Player A drop Player W
Since you are picking up only one player you must put the selection in round 1.

Simply add the player along with the associated drop to round one.  If and only if you have empty slots on your roster then you can have the drop selection set to 'none'.

Click the "Save Round 1 Picks And Continue" button.

You are finished.  When it's time to process waivers the system will try to add this player for you when it's your time to select.

Example 2
(Pick up one player out of a possible four and drop one player)

Round 1

Round 1:
Pick up Player A drop Player W
Pick up Player B drop Player W
Pick up Player C drop Player W
Pick up Player D drop Player W
Since you are picking up only one player out of a possible four you must put ALL FOUR players along with the associated drops in round 1 only.

Click the "Save Round 1 Picks And Continue" button.

You are finished.  When it's time to process waivers the system will try to get ONE player in round 1.  It will try for the 1st name in the list, then the 2nd, 3rd and 4th.

Example 3
(Pick up four players where the dropped player is different with regards to the player picked up)

Round 1

Round 2

Round 3

Round 4

Round 1:
Pick up Player A drop Player W
Pick up Player B drop Player X
Pick up Player C drop Player Y
Pick up Player D drop Player Z
Round 2:
Pick up Player B drop Player X
Pick up Player C drop Player Y
Pick up Player D drop Player Z
Round 3:
Pick up Player C drop Player Y
Pick up Player D drop Player Z
Round 4:
Pick up Player D drop Player Z
If there are four total players you want to pick you need to put ALL FOUR players along with the associated drops into Round 1.

The system will always try to get the top player in your list in the order you have set.

Click the "Save Round 1 Picks And Continue" button.

Once you are in Round 2 add all the picks from round one except for the top pick because you either got that pick or someone else did.

Click the "Save Round 2 Picks And Continue" button.

Once you are in Round 3 add all the picks from round two except for the top pick because you either got that pick or someone else did.

Click the "Save Round 3 Picks And Continue" button.

Once you are in Round 4 add the last pick from round three because you either got the top pick or someone else did.

Click the "Save Round 4 Picks And Continue" button.

You are finished.  When it's time to process waivers the system will try to get ONE player in each round.  It will try for the 1st name in the list, then the 2nd, 3rd and 4th.

Example 4
(Pick up four players where the dropped player is the same regardless of player being picked up)

Round 1

Round 2

Round 3

If there are four total players you want to pick you need to put ALL FOUR players along with the associated drop into Round 1.

The system will always try to get the top player in your list in the order you have set.

Click the "Save Round 1 Picks And Continue" button.

Once you are in Round 2 add all the picks from round one except for the top pick because you either got that pick or someone else did.

However you must change the dropped player because if you got a player in round 1 you must now drop a second player.

Click the "Save Round 2 Picks And Continue" button.

Once you are in Round 3 add all the picks from round two except for the top pick because you either got that pick or someone else did.

However you must change the dropped player because if you got a player in round 2 you must now drop a third player.

Click the "Save Round 3 Picks And Continue" button.

Once you are in Round 4 add the last pick from round three because you either got the top pick or someone else did.

However you must change the dropped player because if you got a player in round 3 you must now drop a fourth player.

Click the "Save Round 4 Picks And Continue" button.

You are finished.  When it's time to process waivers the system will try to get ONE player in each round.  It will try for the 1st name in the list, then the 2nd, 3rd and 4th.

Round 4

Do not forget to drop players if necessary when making requests. When submitting a request make certain to have the player being added and the player being dropped all on one line. When you want to pick up several players be sure to include all the picks in each round.  Always have a backup plan for last minute requests.  This especially holds true for bye week fill-ins.  Do not assume you will get a player.
